The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the highly awaited Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 schedule on Thursday, January 16. The reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will play the Gujarat Giants (GG) at the recently constructed BCA Stadium in Vadodara on February 14 to kick off the tournament.
There will be 22 games in the third WPL season, which will be held in four different cities: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Vadodara, and Lucknow. Mumbai will host both the Eliminator and the Final, ensuring a spectacular tournament finale.
Under Smriti Mandhana’s leadership, RCB will try to defend their first championship, which they won in 2024 with an exciting win against the Delhi Capitals. In the meanwhile, on February 15, the Delhi Capitals, led by the renowned Meg Lanning, will play the Mumbai Indians in Vadodara in an attempt to get off to a fast start.
The WPL media advisory said, “The tournament begins at the state-of-the-art BCA Stadium in Baroda, where Gujarat Giants will square off against defending champions RCB in a highly anticipated opener.” Before the league relocates to Bengaluru, Baroda will host six games. On February 21, RCB will play their maiden home match against the Mumbai Indians at the storied M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The first six games will be played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, while the most games—eight—will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Mumbai will host two league games in addition to the pivotal knockout phases, while Lucknow will host four group-stage games.
