With an outstanding performance in the inaugural game, Australian wicket-keeper batter Beth Mooney get the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 off to an exciting start. In the tournament’s third season, Mooney, who plays for the Gujarat Giants (GG-W), became the first player to reach the half-century mark.

Mooney began the innings for Gujarat Giants against Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB-W) and made a vital effort, hitting 56 runs off 42 balls. Eight well-timed boundaries were hit throughout her innings before Prema Rawat removed her at 11.4 overs. GG-W had amassed 85/3 at the end of the first innings when she was removed. With a strike rate of 133.33, Mooney’s aggressive batting style provided the Gujarat Giants with a strong start to the season.
In addition to her accomplishments, Beth Mooney was recently recognized for her outstanding efforts on the global scene by being named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for January 2025.
